Licensed Psychologist (#1153)
Master Social Worker (#1505)
Hello
My name is Dr. Lequisha Turner and I am a licensed social worker and psychologist. I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Nebraska Omaha in 2010. As a clinical social worker, I supported families and children facing complex challenges. In 2023, I obtained my PhD in Educational Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. My doctoral training included three years of training with the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI), where I provided autism, ADHD, and intellectual assessment across the lifespan. While at UNMC MMI, I also provided psychological services in school-based settings and multiple behavioral pediatrics clinics in the Omaha metro area.
My Story
As an Omaha native, I embrace my identities as a mother, sister, aunt, friend, cousin, and community member. My journey into behavioral health began with witnessing people struggling to meet their needs and their children’s needs due to a lack of culturally responsive therapeutic services. For over 15 years, I have worked to ensure all individuals have access to affordable, quality care. My therapeutic style is best described as compassionate, collaborative, and transparent. I strive to be nonjudgmental and open to feedback because, ultimately, I believe people are the experts of their own lives.
Both personal and professional experiences have helped me understand what it’s like to want better for yourself or your loved ones, yet not know the path to get there. I focus on helping individuals reach their personal goals by listening, supporting, and offering guidance. I also help individuals and families heal by disrupting intergenerational and collective trauma. Lastly, I attempt to ensure that neurodiverse children and young adults are supported in reaching their full potential. To do so, I use both evidence-based practices and traditional healing wisdom to meet each person’s unique needs.
